Warning regarding ThermoWorks products at Amazon, eBay and other sites More info
The lowest internet prices for ThermoWorks products are available at thermoworks.com and through special offers received by subscribers to ThermoWorks emails.
Amazon, eBay, walmart.com, sears.com and their sellers are NOT Authorized Dealers. There are unscrupulous sellers at those sites who have purchased ThermoWorks products at retail prices and are then re-selling them at significantly elevated prices, sometimes 2 to 4 times the Authorized List Price. After receiving numerous complaints from customers who were victimized by those listings, we felt it was important to do what we could to warn unsuspecting consumers.
Furthermore, we have received a growing number of complaints that such sellers are offering counterfeit, copycat, stolen units, and "Open-Box" units as authentic NEW ThermoWorks products. Thus, from January 1st of 2016, technical support and warranty coverage are only available on ThermoWorks products that are purchased direct from ThermoWorks or from ThermoWorks' Authorized Dealers. In this way we know the consumer is fully protected and we can protect our reputation for treating customers fairly. Extended Info
I have these for all four of our thermapens, they work great and keep them safe and secure, we are a very busy steak house that temps everything that goes out, the magnet holds it in place and the cover protects well, though removal and cleaning is still required. It will work on the Mk4 but it's a slight stretch, we have it on ours.
I have mine wrapped around a backlit Classic Thermapen. It just works. It keeps the Thermapen handy, stuck to the side of the refrigerator in the house or the legs or shelf of the backyard gas grill. The ability to "stick and forget" the Thermapen while I attend to the food is a real convenience.
The magnetic grip is very firm and secure on any steel surface. Thermoworks did not skimp on the quality of the magnets. The glow-in-the-dark feature glows more than you would expect. I found it surprisingly helpful when using the outdoor grill in the evening.
The thick silicone material is rubbery and grippy. Mine has stayed clean and fresh for the last two years, but my Thermapen gets only occasional household use. I can imagine it getting grimy in a heavy-use professional kitchen, and I wonder whether the grippy texture makes it harder to clean. I admit, I have never found a need to give it more than a cursory cleaning.
if i could only buy one thing that i know will improve my food it would definitely be a mk 4 thermapen. they are the best investment you can make. if America made everything as well as thermoworks products are it would be great! they can"t be beat period.
