Min/Max Recording Thermometer w/ Alarms (RT8100MAT)

$22.00 $29.00

  • Dual channel measurement
  • Stores max and min with time and date
  • Low and high alarm limit setting
  • LED and audible alarms
  • Magnetic back and flip out desk stand
  • °C/°F switchable

The RT8100MAT is a two channel thermometer that records the date and time of the minimum and maximum readings, while independently monitoring user programmable high and low alarms. It's a perfect tool for environmental monitoring or storage temps at home or work.

  • How It Works

For each channel, set a high and low alarm limit from -58°F to 158°F conveniently from the front panel. Turn on the alarm indicator and when the readings exceed the pre-set alarm limits, an audible alert will sound and the red alarm LED will flash. If the readings return to acceptable limits, the audible alarm will turn off; however, the alarm LED will continue to flash until it is reset to indicate that at some point during the test period, or since the last reset, an alarm was reached.

In addition to keeping track of alarm conditions, the RT8100MAT also records the date and time of the max and min temperatures reached. While you're away, you'll not only know that an alarm condition was met, but how far above or below your limits the temperature reached. And, unlike more expensive data loggers, you won't need a computer or software!

Buy an RT8100MAT for each of your industrial fridge/freezer units or any other critical storage need. With a convenient flip out stand and magnetic pads, you can mount the RT8100MAT conveniently for ease in routine checks.

    Home Use

Everybody needs a couple of these at home. Track daily temperatures in the house or in the garden. Know the highs and lows, and when they occurred, at your exact location. Put one on your fridge/freezer. You'll save hundreds of dollars in ruined foods. Trying to regulate an aquarium? Track the temperature over hours, days or weeks for the highs and lows. Have a greenhouse? Get it set-up just right with the info this thermometer delivers.

Fridge Thermo
I bought 2 during a open box sale. My wife thought I was crazy again for buying some new toys from ThermoWorks. One of them came without a battery cover. Called service and one was sent. It has turned out to be a very useful tool.

We have two refrigerators, a side by side and another in our basement that has two top doors and a bottom freezer drawer. The difference in temp between the two was surprising. It really helped to monitor the temp ranges between the two and then adjust the refrigerator settings to the true temp that we wanted.

My wife really seen the need and appreciated them when we recently had two power outages. We could monitor the temp and was able to connected a generator when needed to control the temperatures.

Would highly recommend as a safeguard for safe and effective refrigerator monitoring.

Could Use better Magnets
I have this mounted on the side of my fridge. The area is clean but the thermometer slides down do to gravity.. I had to put the unit stuck to the fridge on the counter next to the fridge. My fridge is to the left of my stove. The leads have to be taped to the fridge. The thermometer is pretty accurate so I will give it 3 stars. I am going to try some good two sided tape to get it to mount on the fridge. The suction cups do not stay stuck to anything in the fridge. I have cleaned the surfaces and wet the cups a little too. I will probably just use this once a month to make sure the fridge is keeping temperature.

Response from ThermoWorks
Hi Paul,

While we’re happy to hear that your RT8100MAT’s accuracy has helped you monitor the temperatures in your refrigerator, we’re sorry to hear about the problems you’ve had mounting it to your appliance.

Even though we designed the RT8100MAT to be as adaptable as possible, sometimes the differences in various refrigerator/freezer models create the issues you described. This is particularly true if the refrigerator/freezer’s surface (inside or outside) is textured. Suction cups don’t stick to textured surfaces at all and magnets don’t stick to textured surfaces as firmly as they do to smooth surfaces.

One suggestion we have for you is to use the twist ties that came in your thermometer’s packaging to attach the probe’s cables to your refrigerator/freezer’s racks. That way, you won’t have to worry about the suction cups at all.

If you need any additional help, please feel free to contact our Tech Support team by emailing techsupport@thermoworks.com or by calling 1-800-393-6434.
