After receiving numerous complaints from customers who were victimized by those listings, we felt it was important to do what we could to warn unsuspecting consumers.
Furthermore, we have received a growing number of complaints that such sellers are offering counterfeit, copycat, stolen units, and "Open-Box" units as authentic NEW ThermoWorks products. Thus, from January 1st of 2016, technical support and warranty coverage are only available on ThermoWorks products that are purchased direct from ThermoWorks or from ThermoWorks' Authorized Dealers. I've had this timer for close to a year now. I absolutely love the features of this timer and would normally give it a full 5 stars. Unfortunately, the timer exhibits a major flaw. When the battery gets depleted enough, the timer functions still operate normally, with no indication that anything is amiss. However, as soon as a timer count expires and its associated alarm is triggered, the whole unit resets itself to all zeros. No warnings, no hints are provided by the timer display before this happens. When cooking with 1, 2 or 3 timers on the go, you essentially (and unknowingly) lose all your timers as the first one expires. This is a major design flaw.Essentially, it means you wont know you need to replace the battery until you ruin a cook. This is both wasteful and expensive. Not to mention frustrating as hell. Can you imagine this hapenning to you when you are cooking Thanksgiving or Christmas family meals? I've talked to Thermoworks support and they confirmed the issue but pretty much said "thats just the way it is". Not impressed but hopeful Thermoworks will update the product to correct this major flaw. Just adding a "LOW BATTERY" indicator in the LCD display would do it. Until they do so, the workaround for me is simply to preemptively change the battery every 4 months. Not great but better than doing without the Trio.
Thank you for your very valuable feedback. We're glad to hear that overall, you feel that your TimeStick Trio is an important tool and that you will continue using it, but we are also very are sorry to hear that not having a low-battery warning indicator is so problematic. We will make sure that our Product Design Team sees your review. Rest assured, they will take your concerns very seriously.

Great Brewing Tool!
Honestly, I'd rather forget my phone than my Timestick Trio on brewdays. It's so easy to use. I use this all day during the brew, timing every step from the mash to spinning the kettle in caustic and everything in between. It's great that I can time a few things at once, counting down for CIP cycles, hop additions, or up for timing the lauter while counting down at the same time to remind me to check the carbonation on tank 5.
My favorite feature about the Trio is I can set up multiple steps for hop and kettle additions ahead of time, so when the 15 minute boil timer goes off, I already have the 75 minute 1st hop addition set; just push start...and the 5 minute Whirlfloc step is after that. With single set timers, the alarm goes off and I don't know what to do or how long to set the next step. By the time I set it, I'm late. These are splash resistant, much more user friendly, have more features, and cost 30 times less than the timer on an iPhone.
I refer you to the review titled "Great features, one frustrating flaw." The problem mentioned there is the same that I have encountered BUT WITH ONE MAJOR DIFFERENCE. I replaced the battery with a fresh, brand new one, but the problem persisted. When a timer has counted down to zero, I hear a click (but no alarm). The entire display clears momentarily, and then comes back on as all zeros, including any other timers that may have been counting down simultaneously. I contacted ThermoWorks and customer service has sent a replacement.
I know this hardly sounds like a five-star review, but the fact is that the TimeStick Trio offers such a fantastic combination of features that I don't see an alternative on the market that comes even close.
I have had such great experience with other ThermoWorks products. For example, I have purchased a ThermaPen every time it has been upgraded. I also have a ChefAlarm, a ThermoPop, an Extra Big & Loud Timer (the original incarnation, still going after all these years), a regular TimeStick, and an Industrial IR Gun. I even have a dual Infrared/Probe thermometer that I believe is no longer available, and I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two other products. They are all wonderful and in constant use. I wouldn't want to be without them. So my five-star review comes not just with appreciation for the great products ThermoWorks has provided me over the years but also with the sincere hope that the company will endeavour to fix the TimeStick Trio problem and issue an updated version.
I like everything about this timer except the volume of the chimes. It is way too quiet for me so I tend not to use it. I wish I was aware of this flaw before I ordered or I wouldn't have placed the order.
The sound level of the TimeStick Trio is 70 dB. It was designed to be worn with the lanyard around the neck or inserted in a shirt or chef's jacket pocket. The alarm should be audible within a moderately noisy room. If yours isn't working as expected, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd love to help you.
If you need a louder alarm, may wish to look at our Extra Big & Loud Alarm. Its alarm is 110 dB and is hard to miss.
Another feature of the TimeStick Trio is that we purposely designed the buttons to be a little resistant. This feature prevents someone from accidentally changing the settings by inadvertently bumping the buttons. It would be truly unfortunate if someone burned an expensive piece of meat because they didn't realize they had changed their timer settings when placing it in their pocket!

Well made / weak alarm
Love the design, materials and construction. Even though the device can be worn around the neck, the alarm volume is astonishingly low and no adjustment possible. If you are hard of hearing this may not be for you. Unfortunately for me, the audio alarm is next to useless.
We’re sorry to hear that the TimeStick Trio’s alarm isn’t loud enough for your purposes. If a loud alarm is required, you might want to look at our Extra Big & Alarm. It’s very easy to hear its alarm sounding. You can find it here: http://www.thermoworks.com/Extra-Big-Loud

I've been using my Timestick Trio for about 4-5 months now, and love it. It's always handy, thanks to the heavy-duty magnet on the back (I keep it on my range hood) and despite the fact that the buttons are very stiff - I had hoped that daily use would make them a little easier to manipulate - I'd definitely recommend it. The 3 variable timers are ideal for baking and cooking, and the stick itself is easy to clean.
Suggestions to make it even better: make the buttons easier to manipulate (we're not all burly bbq'ers!); make it a tad thicker and longer to hold (I find it a little "shallow" and can't seem to get a good grip when I use both hands to set the timers - my fingers get in the way of the buttons, then again, I never use the cord, it's always on my range hood or in my hand); an early warning alarm would be fantastic (my old non-Thermoworks timer had a 5-min heads up, which I miss). Still, a great little timer and it doesn't shatter when you drop it!!
We're so glad to hear you're enjoying your TimeStick Trio. We'll make sure to pass your suggestions along to our Product Development Team.

ThemoWorks TimeStck Trio
I purchased the trio primarily to use for smoking different meats at the same time. I find it very handy for grilling, stove top cooking, baking and any time I need a timer for anything. The "reverse" time function was very helpful when trying to figure out how much time it takes to make homemade chocolate ice cream.
It keeps the ribs from burning and helps you nail the start at the Saturday sailing races too! We use 1 timer to count down the 5-minute starting sequence, another to judge the boat's pace down the starting line, and the third to time whatever the skipper wants timed. Don't race without one!
The size is small enough for a pocket or the lanyard and large enough to not get lost. Alarms are loud enough but not too loud. The best is having three timers that count down and then at zero sound the alarm and count up leaving no guess work. When grilling steak or other fast moving food I have one set for 1 minute, 1 for 2 minutes with the third set for my initial estimate of cook time. It is easy and fast to add time. Definitely a must have.
A great product from a remarkable company with exceptional customer service. Without a doubt the best experience of my life when purchasing a product that 100% meets my needs. The product delivers and is the perfect fit for anyone that is getting pulled in many opposite directions at once. It's loud enough that it can be heard over the hood systems in a commercial kitchen and with three functional timers in one it's enough to cover all my needs and seriously helps me not overcook or forget anything. My biggest surprise was when I got my order and there was a little bag of Jelly Bellies in the box. I will definitely refer my friend and Colleagues and return for other products from this company.
I bought this combo timer as a gift for a friend who is a serious cook, and she loves it. Has each of the three timers set for a different task, and even parades around the house with the device hanging from a cord around her neck.
Originally I thought the single timer time stick would be sufficient. With the single timer I was missing out on lots of useful information. The Trio allows for me to cook for guest with diversified preferences, keeping track of three different cooking duration's at once. The Trio It has also been an eye opener as far as total cooking time. Cooking a steak for "four minutes on a side" is not really a true reflection of how long the meat is over heat. Even when cooking a single steak, I start two timers now, one that times total duration, one that times the minutes on each side. I now know that four minutes on a side equates out to closer to 10-12 minutes of total cooking time when you factor in start, stop, clear the timer and the actual time of turning the meat and traveling back and forth to the grill. Big help when budgeting when everything needs to come together at once.
Used this for cooking several food items, one on the grill and another on the stove, but it is excellent for other activities which require a timer. Not complicated to use and compact. Will see how the battery holds up. Have the original one-off timer too, which is lighter.
I love this timer. I ordered red and it matches my Wolf cooktop knobs. I love that you can time more than one item at a time and it's portable. I don't have to hang near my kitchen to listen for my oven timer. ThermoWorks never disappoints!
I recently purchased a Trio to replace several timers stuffed in drawers in our kitchen. Every time I needed to time various dishes being prepared it was a chore keeping track of all the timers. With the Trio I can set up three different times and easily follow when to start another dish or how much time is left for each item. It is terrific!
I wasn't sure how I would use three identical timers at once, but I have. When trying to juggle time as serving time approaches being able to work against a set times, and the accumulation of time had been very useful to me. It is now part of my regular took kit!
