Another government website focused on food safety! This one is a good portal to many interesting bits on other government sites. Good info on food temperatures, salmonella, raw meat and poultry handling, and other pertinent material including the recently added topic of homeland defense and protection of the food supply.

This is the National Institute of Standards and Technology outside of Washington in Gaithersburg, Maryland. These people are responsible for maintaining the temperature standards for the nation. All of our calibrations are traceable to standards kept at NIST. Their website is very informational and youll get some insight into what we must do to supply you with accurate thermometers.

These people manufacture the worlds most accurate temperature measurement equipment. Its so good its used mainly to calibrate other sensors and thermometers. Theyre the best at what they do and their site is filled with great practical info not only on their products but on the general topic of temperature calibration.
