Designed for food service and processing plants, this affordable meter reads any type K thermocouple. Competing units suffer from hard-to-read digits, poor accuracy, complex operation, cord-wrapping food traps and much higher prices. The slim, easy-to-grip body of our new Therma K is compact and tough enough for commercial kitchens. Accuracy is better than ±0.5°F in food ranges and ±0.7°F over the full range. Biomaster Anti-microbial Additive
 Biomaster is an anti-bacterial additive mixed with the plastic masterbatch before molding so it's built into every Thermapen. It helps prevent cross contamination of common bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella, and Listeria) by inhibiting the multiplication of microbes and reducing their populations.
In tests performed by an independent lab, after 24 hours Biomaster significantly reduced the population sizes of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as compared to control samples. This doesn't eliminate the need to sterilize and clean the Thermapen body, but significantly reduces risk. The probe should still be wiped after each use.
