Dist Target ratio Distance Target Ratio: Indicates the diameter of the surface area an infrared thermometer will measure at a given distance. An IR thermometer with a 50:1 ratio will average the temperature of a one-inch diameter circle of surface area from 50 inches away and a 2-inch diameter circle from 100 inches away and so on.
wireless Red Laser Indicator: This icon indicates that an infrared thermometer comes equipped with a target laser to help guide the location of measurements. Some IR thermometers have two lasers to indicate the target area being measured.
rh Type K Thermocouple: A common sensor pairing two wires made mostly of nickel and chromium and using variance in voltage to calculate temperatures—known for its wide temperature range and affordability—typical in industrial applications.
wireless Type T Thermocouple: A more specialized sensor pairing two wires made mostly of copper and constantan and using variance in voltage to calculate temperatures—known for greater accuracy and durability—typical in medical or pharmaceutical applications.
wireless USB-Enabled: Includes a USB port for easy downloading of stored data to your computer.
lcd Adjustable Emissivity: Indicates an infrared thermometer with an adjustable emissivity value. Emissivity is a measure of a material's ability to emit infrared energy. See our Emissivity Table.
