The IRK Infrared Thermometer is intended for a broad variety of applications. This infrared thermometer gives you two instruments for the price of one. We make a huge selection of quality type K thermocouples to make the IRK infrared thermometer a perfect fit for nearly any purpose. Select a type K probe from our probe page.

Most infrared thermometers sold for less than $100 have the emissivity value fixed at the factory for 0.95. That makes them useful for many organic materials but renders them inaccurate when used with any other material. The emissivity setting of the IRK Infrared Thermometer adjusts in 0.01 increments from 0.1 to 1.0.

Here's the neat part: if you don't know the emissivity of your material, simply use a contact thermocouple to measure the surface temp, then adjust the IRK Infrared Thermometer's emissivity value till your infrared reading matches the thermocouple reading. Slick, huh?

With the IRK Infrared Thermometer you also get Min/Max, Hold, Diff, Avg, Hi Alarm, Lo Alarm, a bright laser, display backlight and a °C/°F button. Even with all this, the IRK Infrared Thermometer is still so easy to use. Just press the mode key once-each to step through these features. With this infrared thermometer you probably won't even read the manual.

5" Penetration Probe

ThermoWorks Image		 This general purpose probe is popular in the food industries and is a little more rugged than the Fast Response Probe. The 1/8" diameter shaft is swaged to a smaller diameter and given a very sharp tip for easy penetration in most semi-solids. Probes are available in a 5" stem or a longer 12" stem, which is great for reaching over hot grills, into large ovens, rotisseries or deep pots; also suitable for liquids and air temperatures. It's very durable probe resists bending and breaking (for frozen foods consider heavier duty probes) and is recommended for hard daily use. Fairly quick response time takes only about 7 seconds to a complete reading.
