This is a great product
"This is a great product I love the timer and that it shows the tenth of a degree all the time"
Working on second one.
"The ChefAlarm is an accurate and versatile thermometer. After about three years of service my first ChefAlarm started to work intermittently. I noticed that when the display was bent up, leaving the base flat on the counter, the display would go blank. When the product was laid out without flexing, it worked without any problems. After doing more investigation, and repeated failures, I decided to take the unit apart. I discovered that the upper display portion and the lower battery and temperature measurement portion were connected using a ribbon cable. Unfortunately, due to repeated folding of the product that ribbon cable broke in the middle from bending. Considering that the product worked fine without folding, I wanted to know if I could simply replace the ribbon cable which is a simple fix. Repairs are not made for this product failure. So I had to throw the product away and buy another. If the weak point in the product design is only the ribbon cable, perhaps using a heavier gauge cable, or perhaps making it simple to replace when it does go bad is a possibility? In any event, I am happy with the product, and will purchase another as backup."

No light? Check your batteries
"I tried to use the light on my timer yesterday, but it didn't come on. It beeped when I pushed the button, but no light. I put in new Duracells, and the light came on! Very happy that I can continue to use it. It is 2 1/2 years old, and I think it still had the original batteries in it. Love how loud it is, and it is very easy to use as a timer, as long as you only need full minutes on the countdown."
