ThermoDrop® is a keychain-sized ambient thermometer that tells you the temperature of your world — not a weather station miles away. Clip it to your keys or bag for outdoor temps, use it in a greenhouse or shed for plants, or hang it in the fridge to monitor food safety. Big, backlit digits make the temperature easy to read at a glance, even in low light.

Built to go wherever you do, ThermoDrop is waterproof to IP67; tough enough for rain, snow, and spills; and accurate to ±1.8°F. It saves high and low temperatures, rotates automatically so it’s easy to read from any angle, and runs for months on a single coin cell battery. From ski days to grocery runs to keeping tabs on the fridge at home, ThermoDrop gives you a simple, reliable read on the world around you.

  • Know the True Temperature: Measure where you actually are instead of relying on a forecast or phone app guess.
  • Clip It Anywhere: Attach ThermoDrop to zippers, backpacks, and keys, or hang it inside fridges and freezers.
  • Read It at a Glance: Big, backlit digits stay clear indoors, outdoors, and at night.
  • Track Temperature Swings: Min/Max memory shows how cold it got overnight or how warm it reached during the day.
  • Built for Weather and Mess: IP67 waterproof rating stands up to rain, snow, and splashes.
  • Trust Every Number: NIST-traceable calibration ensures accuracy within ±1.8°F.
  • Set It and Forget It: Up to ~4,000 hours of battery life on one coin cell battery.
  • Take It Anywhere: Weighs just 14.3 grams for backpacking, hiking, fishing, or ultralight travel.

Simple and reliable

"Compact, well made, and easy to use. The display is clear, the backlight is useful, and I appreciate the IP67 protection, replaceable CR2032 battery, and the included calibration certificate. It feels like a solid and reliable little thermometer. I only wish ThermoWorks had an official distributor or store in Europe. I could not find a comparable product here, but international shipping, customs clearance, and the new import charges together cost almost three times as much as the thermometer itself. Because of that, I plan to keep it attached to an AirTag until the ThermoDrop eventually stops working—the AirTag was cheaper and would be easier to replace."

Not rechargeable and dies quickly

"This is a great concept but the little disc battery doesn’t last, and I even powered mine down much of the time between uses. I was surprised at how quickly the battery dies, and moreover that it’s 2026 and it doesn’t just have a simple usb c port to recharge it anywhere anytime. A second gen rechargeable version would make it worthwhile but I can’t recommend this since it almost feels disposable having to constantly run on awkward new disc batteries."

Only reads HHH

"This is useless. . . from time to time it will read a minimum temperature but most of the time, it only reads HHH, as is the case right now. It will blink MAX or MIN but still says HHH. Money down the drain."

Too sensitive - sometimes of little use

"The thermometer is the perfect size and the battery life is long. I like that I can get different colors to match my outdoor gear. Unfortunately, the thermometer frequently reads too high. A moment of sunlight or grabbing the case for a moment is enough to artificially inflate the temperature. ThermoWorks should consider an algorithm that averages temperature over a period of time to moderate the temperature excursions. It should also look at finding a way to compensate for sunlight on the casing. If you want an accurate thermometer, the ThermoDrop is great. But if you want an accurate reading of the air temperature in a normal daily environment, consider a LESS sensitive product."

As a dog walker, I

"As a dog walker, I use this to quantify temperature safety for my clients. It’s a great little piece of gear, small enough to clip to my fanny pack."

Amanda K. (5/5)

"I use this thermometer clipped to my swim buoy for open water ocean swims. Not an advertised use but it has worked perfectly for anyone looking for same use. As far as durability only time will tell how prolonged use in salt water effects it. For the cost so far so good."

Awesome little thermometer

"I work in IT and needed a small thermometer to check server room temps and this works great"

Douglas G. (5/5)

I had one hanging off my propane bottle on my camper.

"They are fantastic. The first thermometer that actually works! Until it got stolen one night. Bummer."

Austin K. (5/5)

Fantastic

"Bought these to replace another brand whose units were all over the place in terms of readings. I have three of these and they all read identically. Absolutely adore them. Will be getting"

Carolann A. (5/5)

It's great!

"I bought 2 and have compared them to other thermometers and each other, inside, outside and inside refrigerator. They seem to work really well and I like the portability, one is on my keychain."
