"I wanted one for 10 years, but I am cheap. My new thermapen is a thing of great beauty: a durable, reliable, accurate, precision instrument. In a world full of flimsy, crappy, half-assed disposable garbage offered as consumer products, including automobiles, the thermapen is a demonstration of beautiful craftsmanship, and is very obviously made to last by people who are proud of the quality of their products (= integrity; which is as rare as well made durable goods. Maybe hand-made custom boots, if you can find them). The additional $16 I spent on the silicone protective boot is SO worth the extra expense. It sticks to my fridge and glows in the dark. I'll never regret this purchase, for sure. Nails the temperature very quickly, gets it right every time. I love that there's no on/off switch, just extend the probe. If you brew, you want one"

"I had the similar cover with my Thermapen Mk4 but only recently got this cover for my Thermapen One. . . I forgot how useful it was. . . Obviously, it protects the thermapen one from heat and splatter. But additionally, it truly is convenient to magnetically attach it to places, and the glowing really does help you find it - like the other night when I turned off my deck lights and saw it was still out next to my grill"
