Great For Wood Stove
"I use this and a high temperature probe to monitor my wood stove for low and high temperatures so I don't have to baby set it. Works great!"
Delay to app on phone
"Bought this for BBQ it took a little bit to set up but finally got it to work, however it has a fairly long delay going to the phone app the unit itself has an adjustable update rate min 15 seconds. that works fine but that reading takes longer to get to your phone app from the cloud. I did contact Tech support which they did try to help but could not get it to update the app faster. I needed faster updating for my application so I will be returning."
Need 4 Probe Capability with WiFi/App
"I bought the ThermaQ primarily for overnight smokes with a pellet smoker. However, I often have multiple meat cuts smoking at the same time and need more than 2 probes, especially if one is being used to monitor the ambient temperature of the smoker. The ThermaQ has performed fantastically as expected. It is easy to use and set up and the app works great. I would have given the product 5 stars IF it was available with 4 probes. The ThermaQ-2 has 4 probes but is not WiFi/App connected. As I indicated earlier, we often do overnight smokes, such as a full packer brisket. It is essential to be able to check meat temps in the middle of the night or be alerted via an alarm once the temperature is reached. I would like to see ThermoWorks have a 4 probe thermocouple Alarm meter with WiFi similar to the ThermaQ2. That is the only thing that would make this product more user friendly."

"This thing is fantastic. I can monitor my smoker or brew kettle from anywhere with alarms and graphs. I am not sure what the other reviewer was talking about. I don't have a dedicated ipad. I t works great on my android. It tracked my loggering of a homebrew for almost 2 weeks before i had to change the 2 AA batteries. Fantastic. One tip:IF you plan to travel outside of wifi, disable wifi on your monitoring device so you don't get disconnected. It does not seem to auto recover. Minor room for improvment:make the app auto save charts. It will warn you a few times a day its getting large and has not been saved. just save it. Make it so i dont have to reboot or force close the app when I am done using it. It will hangout in the notification bar on android all the time once open. I simply reboot or go to apps, force close on thermaQ and its fine. Just seems like i should be able to close it easier. Overall the quality and accuracy is great. I love this product."
Great Device - Lacks Key Compatibility
"I love Thermoworks products and own quite a few. The Thermapen is my ""go to"" gift for friends/relatives. The ThermaQ has a large number of positives: 1. ) Ease of Setup2. ) Temp Accuracy3. ) Wifi Strength / Reliability 4. ) Battery Life5. ) Great customer supportHowever, there are 2 key issues that should make buyers pause: 1. ) The app has to be ""live"" on your phone or tablet to track/graph temp history. This makes it useless unless you have a spare iPad or iPhone that you can dedicate to the app while using. 2. ) More annoying is that the firmware can only be updated by a Windows PC. It can not be updated via the app nor can you use a MacBook product. Good news is that both of these items could conceivably be solved by software updates/enhancements. Should that occur, I would gladly change my rating to a 5 e. g. 1 point for each upgrade."
