After quite a few years
"After quite a few years using the probe it stopped working, the replacement works fine. I guessing the probe failed because of having to bend the wire too sharply to fit it into the storage case"
Hopefully it lasts longer than the last one
"Seems to match the calibration of the previous (as shipped) probe. I really babied the first one and was severely disappointed by its early demise."
Perfect Prime Rib Roast Every time
"So easy to use just put it in the centre of whatever meat you are cooking put it in the oven and cook to desired doneness. Don’t have to open the oven to check the temp and loose heat. Love these temperature probes paired with the ChefAlarm thermometer."
High temp probes
"When these work they are the best. But only lasting a year or two is frustrating when you have a failure right at beginning of a session."
Aggravating!!!
"These probes are junk. I am meticulous when using and cleaning these probes, making sure not to get the connection wet or kinking the wires. I haven't gotten more that a few uses out of a probe before they do bad. I get a reading of -35 degrees. I've replaces at least a dozen probes and still they don't work after a couple uses. Today I'm ready to put a $300 roast on my Prime and the probe doesn't work. BEYOND AGGRAVATING!! Maybe Thermoworks wants me to have a dozen in reserve or wants the recurring revenue?"
Stuck it in my porker
"Stuck it in my porker with ease."
Keep a extra
"Always good to have 1 on reserve."
ThermoWorks products
"So far So good, I trust ThermoWorks"
Worked about 1/2 dozen times then went crazy
"Either the probe or Dot went bad. Reads 30 degrees high and cannot recalibrate. Never got it wet either. Paid a premium for this brand in hopes of better reliability than the many cheap probes that I've gone through over the years. No such luck. 6 month warranty period seems line up pretty well with its lifespan. Good thing I didn't toss my $5 analog thermometer."
This is the second pro probe, and they suck.
"I have a dot and an instant read. After overcooking steaks a month ago because the probe was reading 20 degrees too low, I replaced it⦠even though it was only a few months old. I figured my paranoia with the cord wasnât enough to keep it from kinking. Now, brand new probe, fresh out of the box, same issue. Never ever again. Avoid this junk at all costs."
