Add Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi to your Smoke alarm thermometer with Smoke Gateway. Intuitive in-app setup walks you through pairing Smoke Gateway to Smoke base unit, and connecting Smoke Gateway to your Wi-Fi network, to track your cook directly on your smart device from anywhere in the world. Plug Smoke Gateway into a wall outlet, or use remotely on battery power, up to 100 hours, before USB charging is required. Holds up to professional BBQ use with molded-in seals and IP65 water-resistant rating. Please note that each Smoke requires its own Smoke Gateway to connect to the internet if operated simultaneously.

Get push notifications on your smart device when your temperature alarms are triggered.

Continuous Syncing Difficulties

"Very disappointed. It's the most frustrating of my many "Tech Toys. " When it works, it's fine. In the 5 years I've owned this Smoke Gateway WiFi unit, I don't think it's ever Synced on the first try. Instructions on the App do not match the flashing of the LED's on this unit. You will have questions, such as, "Can it be Synced when charging?" and "I followed the instructions, but it did not Sync. What happened?" You should plan on a extra 30 minutes prior to smoking to get this finicky device to work properly. If you start smoking your food first, then attempt to connect the Smoke Gateway, your food will likely be half finished by the time you get this thing to Sync. Forget about that run to the store (or wherever), while your food is smoking. That time, just went toward your attempt to connect your Smoke Gateway!!"

DIFICULT TO GET CONNECTED TO WI-FI

"WILL ONLY CONNECT TO 2. 4 HZ. THAT IS VERY OLD TECHNOLOGY. MOST HIGH-SPEED MESH SYSTEMS DO NOT USE THAT ANYMORE."

Great addition

"What a great addition to the smoke line. I love how you can add notes to cooks to refur to later. Had a little bit of trouble setting it up at first, but it could have been my phone. Overall, I love it."

Overall, access to the thermometer

"Overall, access to the thermometer from anywhere is a pretty neat thing to have. I have a Traeger with WiFi, and have used it remotely in the past as well, so it will be nice to add this to my toolkit. I initially purchased the ThermoWorks thermometer and smoke gateway after reading that they had a Home Assistant integration. I'm a big smart home enthusiast, and I thought it would be fun to be able to flash the lights or announce on the smart speakers when a cook is finished! Unfortunately, the integration was no longer working after a change to ThermoWorks' web services. I'd love to see an API published so that users can access their thermometer data with third-party tools. In the meantime, I'll use the Smoke Gateway as what it is for me, a temperature gauge that goes on my phone, rather than the chunky RF display."

Useless Outside of Seeing Temperatures

"You cannot set the temperature or max/min settings on a Smoke with this Gateway and the Thermoworks app, even though the app gives you the options to do so. They just don't do anything. The alarm values and max/min values also do not match what is on the Smoke in the app. All you can do with this is see your temperatures. The entire product page is misleading. Waste of money."

Smoke and Gateway Paring

"Worked flawlessly on an 18 hour cook. I appreciated the graph and being able to keep a record of the cooking time and events. I would re it to others."

Benton H. (5/5)

Slow refresh rate

"This works well syncing to the WiFi at our house. The refresh rate is kinda slow so for smaller cuts of meat when the temp is going up fast it can be 6-7 degrees behind the actual temp. That is disappointing."

??

"I've just set it up and tested it to find that it works great. I'd seen where some whined about it operating on 2. 4 GHZ. I had no issues, my dual band mesh routers automatically selected the right band for it. The accompanying Thermoworks app is even better than I had expected. Very happy with Both!"
