Dead after a month.
"Bought on the 13th of January, used it maybe half a dozen times and all of the buttons stopped working. They're clicky membrane buttons and they're all stuck down (in the pressed position)."
More than adequate for our needs
"My husband, a retired chemist, who chose this instrument, had a heck of a time calibrating it. Perhaps it was because the electrode had not sat in storage solution long enough after we received it. Also, it did not come with storage solution or calibration buffers, something we did not realize when we ordered. It works fine now. We use it to check pH of ferments and sauces for canning. I believe a simpler (and less expensive) instrument would have been adequate for us."
Defective
"This has never worked reliably from day 1. Dont waste your money and more importatntly your time. Thermoworks this product is a blight against your otherwise good name. Something needs to be done about this terrible product and user experience."
Long overdue purchase
"Great product. Seemed easy to calibrate. Fits well in the hand. Just used it to make a batch of gardenaire. Glad I got it, should have purchased a long time ago."
Good
"Very good equipment. A little slow but does is not a big problem. Recommended"
Great unit for the price.
"This is a great unit for the price, very accurate and easy to use."
Lots of troubles
"When the ph meter arrived I had lots of trouble getting it to calibrate. I never could get a 3 point calibration. Even talked to customer support. We finally got a 2 point calibration. I have bedn storing in storage solution & calibrating before each use. Today, impossible to calibrate. Going to replace the probe and try again. But IÃâd think the probe would last longer than a month. I have cheaper lower quality meters that seem to work better. Not sure this thing is worth having."
ItÃâs a nice device but
"ItÃâs a nice device but I feel the instructions could be clearer. Still very happy with my purchase."
8689 pH meter
"Bought the meter in January 2020 and have only used it maybe 4-5 times. Out of the box it would not calibrate to pH 7 buffer solution and would lock at 6. 88. Subsequent cal procedure in pH 4 buffer solution would converge on the correct pH. In both cases the delay in achieving ""calibration"" was inordinately long (many minutes). I am experienced with pH usage and never use it on hot wort, only cooled samples. Always store in KCl solution. Insult to injury is when the issue is raised to customer service all I have heard is crickets. Not satisfied at all. Only bought this meter based on a Brulosophy review. I suggested to them that they need to revisit the evaluation and recommendation. Converted from an Extech meter and obviously made the wrong choice."
VERY Poor Performance
"I have been using this for about a week or so. I have yet to see it stabilize, even once, when measuring a pH. I takes forever (minutes per point) to calibrate; the calibration rarely works at the 10. 00 point. It can't measure the pH of the calibration buffers correctly immediately following calibration. I have used many pH meters in the past; this one just plain doesn't work!"
