Made from heavy duty stainless steel, the Grate Clip easily mounts to most grill grates or oven rack. Attach a temperature probe and start monitoring ambient temperatures in your oven, grill or smoker. Unlike dome thermometers, or oven sensors, the Grate Clip allows you to place your temperature probe 1-inch above the cooking surface for a more accurate indication of what temperatures are where your food is actually cooking.

Attach the stainless steel grate clip to your smoker, grill, or oven rack. Use the grate clip to help identify hot and cold zones on the grill, or monitor oven cycles as you bake, or roast.

Useless Grate Clip for my kitchen oven

"Let me start out by saying that I am a big fan of ThermoWorks products and have bought many of them for myself and as gifts. I recently purchased the Square Dot to use with my kitchen oven. The Grate Clip for the probe that comes with it is totally useless to use in my Maytag oven. I have followed your instructions to try and make it fit with the wide grates in my oven by expanding the bottom of the clip. When you do this, the tension goes out of the clip and it topples over. I have reviewed videos that suggest balling up tinfoil to stabilize the clip and one other person who went so far (points for ingenuity) as to placing a roasting pan with an internal roasting rack(with narrow grates) in their oven order to get a secure fit. I understand that it is difficult to devise a product that will universally fit every application but why should your customers have to work so hard to make something work? Why not provide more than one clip (for different sized grates) with the Square Dot to be used with the probe?"

"This thing for use on a big green egg with Ceramic Grill Store grate products, absolutley is useless. Clips to the grate fine. The probe just slides right out when you close the lid or even move the grate. Makes using any of these products pretty useless."

Too small

"This grate clip is not large enough for the spaces in my oven rack. I've seen the suggestion of using a ball of tin foil to stabilize, but it would also be nice to have the clip just available to purchase in a larger size. Or at least to specify in the description the widest grate the clip accommodates. It feels silly to return something so inexpensive, but wish I had known it wouldn't fit!"
