Love the spools!

Pass, it's bulky and weak magnets
"Purchased this when a probe died and the customer service person blamed the kinks in my cable. Fine, I bought a new probe despite the warranty. I stored my equipment in its original packaging, so any kinks were from that, not misuse. They suggested a spool was better storage. So this works as a spool. It's huge, the spool is larger than the Dot that the probe goes with. It's only intended to spool one probe, but having two of these to store is a giant bridge too far. It does neatly arrange the probe cable. It is magnetic, but as I stuck it on the oven door next to the Dot, it kept falling off the door while the Dot stayed just fine. This is a waste of money and needs design work IMO."
No more bent wire
"The one think I didn't like about the Chef Alarm was the fact that the probe wouldn't go back into the zip up case without a sharp bend in the wire at the end of the probe. Now the probe is rolled up and stuck to the side of the refrigerator with a magnet."
